Myspace Page

My 25 year old daughter sat watching me shaking her head in disbelief that her mom was creating a myspace page. Looking over some of the pages that her friends had set up, I too felt that I was stepping out of my element. This is for young people, not me, I thought. I could be wrong, but I can't see myself visiting a myspace page beyond the conclusion of this class.
I was able to set the page up but not without a lot of dificulty however. I had a hard time trying to include background paper, pictures, and music. I eventually had to ask my daughter for some assisstance. She stopped laughing long enough to give me a hand. Now that my page is set up I am curious to see what comes next. Will I start new friendships or possibly rekindle old ones? Time will tell.

I can definitely understand that this may not be a place you want to hang out in, after the end of the class. That's totally fine -- one of the things you're doing here is learning how this works, and that's an important task in its own right!

DITTO to all you have said!
My son is 32 and I think sometimes he grows impatient with me when I don't grasp a tech skill or concept as fast as he thinks I should - causing him to repeat himself or the step.

All I hear about MySpace is negative and while I know that's not all the story, like you, I probably will not use it once this class is over. Now... if I could get my page "PIMPED" up (OH, I can't believe that word all of a sudden has a positive connotation and that I am using it in my venacular)I may be a little more enthused and motivated to use it after this course. Some people have really nice pages and whether I use it or not after the class, I still would like to acquire the skill!
